With higher education in international trade and after more than 20 years in the paper industry, I have successful experience in the sale of technical products in France and worldwide to international customers, direct and indirect.

Before joining James Cropper as BDM Luxury Packaging, I worked for many years at ArjoWiggins in the Customer Service (including for the Luxury Packaging business) and I had a shorter experience as KAM France for a company specializing in anticorrosion solutions.

Passionate about premium papers and Luxury Packaging, I particularly enjoy working on requests for tailor-made products where the understanding of customer needs and the proposal of adapted technical solutions are essential.

Beyond my training and experience, I am proactive, versatile and my ability to learn helps me adapt quickly and get involved in new projects or new functions.

Tell us about a typical day in your role at James Cropper:

DF
As a Business Development Manager, I share my time between managing and monitoring new projects for the boxes or shopping bags of international luxury brands (teamwork internally and with the client to fully understand their expectations, our technical possibilities and best meet their needs), prospecting new customers, visiting customers to present our product portfolio and our service offering, while obviously remaining available for any requests from existing clients.

Every day has its priorities and its new challenges. We must adapt and keep going.

During your career at James Cropper, what has been your most memorable highlight?

DF
I remember my first visit to the Mill. I was immediately seduced by the environment (in the beautiful English Lake District), the typical grey limestone factory, the mix of tradition and modernity with a state-of-the-art colour laboratory and measuring devices.

Simply amazing! It is an experience that I recommend and happily share with my clients.

What work are you particularly proud of at James Cropper?

DF
I’m very proud to have joined a business with such a wonderful legacy, which nevertheless remains resolutely driven towards the future. I love the heritage of the company, the know-how and the passion of James Cropper teams who constantly seek to offer innovative and tailor-made products, from beautiful papers for luxury shopping bags and boxes to moulded fibre packaging solutions for cosmetics and the finest vintages. It's exciting and very rewarding to develop bespoke projects with our clients – many international luxury brands and their converters/printers, and to work on different projects from one time to the next. No routine, only new challenges to take on!

Which three things would you take to a desert island?

DF
Chocolate, Crosswords… and a mobile phone to stay in touch with my loved ones.
JS

What’s your guilty pleasure?

DF
A glass of wine or a good beer at the end of the week for a moment of pure relaxation.
