The black tea produced by Zhengshan has been around for more than 400 years dating back to the Ming Dynasty (about 1568 AD). The understanding and legacy of the black tea is an important part of the company and to this day it is core to the company's culture.
The craftsmanship of the Zhengshan black tea has been passed down generation to generation over the last 400 years and it is this ancestry that is behind the success and reputation for high quality tea in China and around the world.
The tea is expertly packaged in James Cropper Rydal Shadow Black.
We have harnessed technology, science and skill to create this unique black paper with a strong environmental pedigree. Matching dyes, pigments and fibres we have created a non-carbon paper with very high rub resistance that also repurposes 40% post-consumer waste.
This particular deep shade of black, being non-carbon, lends itself perfectly to creative print work incorporating metallic foil-blocking.
