Consumers are increasingly choosing brands for their ethical behaviour and their record on climate change. Investors are favouring businesses with robust ESG frameworks. And governments are implementing regulations requiring organisations to increase transparency in areas such as diversity, equal pay, carbon emissions and modern slavery. That makes Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) efforts crucial to building a successful business and leaving a lasting positive impact on our environment and society. That’s why we’ve published our ESG priorities and continue to make investments that drive world-class expertise and solutions to support our clients on their ESG journey too.

LET’S TALK ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY

It is a pleasure to announce that James Cropper Paper has scored a gold medal rating, in a recent review by EcoVadis; the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. EcoVadis assess over 90,000 companies worldwide on how well sustainability has been integrated into their business and management systems.

This independently-verified rating helps to demonstrate that on our journey to net-zero that we have integrated the principles of corporate social responsibility into our business and are up to the challenge of providing sustainable solutions for our clients across the world. The recognition places our papermaking operation in the top 5% of all businesses that EcoVadis rates.

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing us today. We recognise that we have a responsibility not only to eliminate carbon and other greenhouse gas emissions in our own operations, but also to continue building on our strong foundations and push forward creative bio-based solutions for the environment and our society.

The ranking provides customers and partners with transparency on how the company exercises its ESG responsibility. It helps showcase the values we can bring to the table, not only as an innovation partner but as an ESG and sustainability partner as well.

Our commitment to sustainability is rooted in our core values and in our partnership with clients, to help them advance their own sustainability initiatives while collectively working to improve the communities where we all live and work.

Our path to net-zero is still long, and we are going to keep making headway every day to improve. Please connect with us via the EcoVadis platform, or contact us to discover more about the EcoVadis scorecard rating.
